Happy New Year Ron?
For over a year Ron had some problems in his right shoulder. He had an MRI and consulted 3 surgeons. Finally, it was decided he should have surgery on January 11. The surgeon said, “Oh, nothing to it, you have 3 tears on your bicep tendon, 20 minutes of surgery, a week off of work, a couple of weeks of physical therapy and you will be as good as new.” Famous last words.
Now the reality was 9 tears on the bicep tendon and all the tissue on the ball and socket was gone! The doctor had to pull in tissue and make six major attachments. What was supposed to be a fender bender turned out to be a major train wreck. Ron missed several weeks of school and has been in physical therapy for several weeks.
He is making improvement, but it has been very painful and very slow. Ron just saw the surgeon March 24th. He said,”There was so much damage I don’t expect you to ever gain full mobility ever. Keep going to physical therapy as long as you show improvement and your insurance will pay for it. Then we will discuss how much pain you can manage.” Then he gave Ron a cortisone shot and said to go home and pray or do what ever you do and hope for the best.”
So, as of now Ron can drive, brush his teeth and get dressed by himself. He can’t play golf, or lift anything with his right hand. He is determined to get as strong as he can but progress is very slow and frustrating. Your prayers are much appreciated.
